Overview
The SuperTag line's strongest tag yet.
Where the original SuperTag and SuperTag III established the format, SuperTag 4 hardens it: new patented locking technology raises defeat resistance over every earlier generation, and a 63.5 kg (140 lb) pullout rating puts it at the top of the family. The tag body is high-impact ABS in light grey, sized 61 × 30.5 × 24.6 mm at just 8.8 g.
It unlocks only with the SuperTag 4 detacher line — power, manual handheld, and AM/RFID variants — and those detachers remain backwards-compatible with previous SuperTag generations, so a store can migrate tags without replacing its checkout hardware twice. Connected to Sensormatic's SMaaS analytics platform, the power detachers also report detachment counts and timing, a signal retailers use to spot internal theft patterns and after-hours detacher use.
An AM/RFID version combines theft protection with item-level stock visibility, and supports self-checkout flows where detachment is only enabled after a valid purchase.
