Nedap Smart Deactivator

Nedap · RF 8.2 MHz deactivator · 7.4 to 8.8 MHz · detect-mode burst · low EMC

Plug-and-play 8.2 MHz RF label deactivator from Nedap. Built around a 'detect mode' that listens for a live RF label before firing a single targeted deactivation burst — versus the random-burst generators most other deactivators use. The result is high deactivation performance with a low EMC profile (less radiation, less interference with surrounding electronics). Constant optimal deactivation distance across the 7.4 to 8.8 MHz frequency band, through-air synchronisation between multiple units so they never interfere with each other, and programmable behaviour via on-board micro-switches.

Overview

Detect-mode RF deactivator — bursts only on live labels.

Most RF deactivators run a random-burst generator: they fire continuous deactivation pulses regardless of whether a label is in front of them. That works, but it also broadcasts unnecessary RF radiation across the lane all shift long. The Smart Deactivator inverts the model — it stays in detect mode, listens for the resonant signature of a live 8.2 MHz RF label, and only then fires a single targeted burst tuned to that label's exact frequency (any time it's within the 7.4 to 8.8 MHz range). The label deactivates, the lane is quiet again. Hard-tag recognition is built in, so the unit can alarm when an undeactivatable hard tag passes through. Multiple units in the same area auto-synchronise through the air, eliminating cross-interference between adjacent lanes. Connects to Nedap's Renos / OST controller for system status and to iSenseGo Analytics for deactivation counts and health monitoring. Behaviour is programmable on-device via micro-switches. Ships with regional mains cords (EU, UK, US, CN, BR, IT/CL/IS/AL).

Features

  • Detect mode — fires only when a live RF label is sensed
  • Tuned burst per label — operates 7.4 to 8.8 MHz, matches label frequency
  • Low EMC profile — minimal radiation vs random-burst designs
  • Hard-tag recognition with audible alarm differentiation
  • Through-air synchronisation — no interference between adjacent units
  • Programmable on-device via micro-switches
  • I/O for intelligent connections (POS triggers, scanner signals)
  • Renos / OST integration for status + Nedap Retail Analytics counts
  • Different volume settings + dual buzzer tones (success vs hard tag)
  • Regional mains cords — F (EU/US), G (UK), I (CN), N (BR), M (IT/CL/IS/AL)

Compatibility

Deactivates standard 8.2 MHz RF labels (operates 7.4 to 8.8 MHz). Nedap RF and Checkpoint RF labels are physically interoperable at 8.2 MHz, so the Smart Deactivator will deactivate Checkpoint-compatible RF labels and vice versa. Does NOT deactivate 58 kHz AM (Sensormatic) or RFID (RAIN) tags — different technologies entirely. Forms the core of Nedap's iSenseGo 360° Deactivation SCO product. For comparable 8.2 MHz RF deactivation pads available through RSG, see the Checkpoint Counterpoint RF EAS pad or the Low Profile Pad Pro.
