Nedap iD Top
Nedap · RFID UHF overhead reader · ceiling or wall mount · adaptive
Overhead RFID exit reader designed to remove the visual obstruction of pedestal gates entirely. Mounts to the ceiling (using steel cables or a VESA mount) or onto a wall (using the included mounting plate or VESA), so the entrance stays open and welcoming. Built around the Impinj R2000 RAIN RFID chip for long-range reads and fast tag rates. Can be repurposed for goods receiving or pure inventory functions, and multiple iD Tops can be linked together to cover large entrances.

Overview
Ceiling-mount RFID overhead reader, no pedestals at the door.
Pedestal gates put a visual barrier at the store entrance — fine for traditional EAS, less ideal when the store design wants to read as open and welcoming (luxury, premium fashion, flagship locations). iD Top moves the RFID detection field overhead. The unit hangs from the ceiling on steel cables or mounts via VESA on either the ceiling or a wall, leaving the entrance unobstructed. Detection is straightforward RAIN RFID — items carrying source-tagged EPC labels register as they pass under the read field. The same hardware can be reassigned to goods-receiving duty in the stockroom or used purely for inventory snapshots, and several units can be chained together to cover wide entrances. Compatible with existing AM/RF EAS systems in coexistence — useful for retailers running mixed-tech installs during an RFID migration. The adidas case study on Nedap's site cites the iD Top specifically for keeping flagship entrances clean.

Compatibility
Requires RFID UHF source-tagged inventory (RAIN RFID, EPC). Coexists with existing AM 58 kHz or RF 8.2 MHz EAS systems — the iD Top is overhead RFID only and does not detect AM or RF labels. Multiple iD Tops can be linked together to cover entrances wider than a single unit. Sold exclusively through certified Nedap Loss Prevention Partners. For comparable RFID overhead readers available through RSG, see the Checkpoint Overhead 2.0 RFID antenna.
