Ultra•Post Self-Contained Pedestal

Sensormatic AM, 58 kHz

Ultra Post II Dual Post System

The Ultra•Post is an energy-efficient, self-contained EAS pedestal designed for Sensormatic AM (58 kHz) anti-theft protection. Unlike older pedestal systems that rely on a separate controller, Ultra•Post houses the core electronics inside the primary pedestal's base cover—helping reduce installation complexity, service time, and long-term maintenance costs. Integrated audio + visual alarms alert staff when protected merchandise passes through the detection zone, while software features help cut nuisance alarms and improve the shopper experience.

What it's best known for
  • Self-contained design: On-board electronics in the primary pedestal base (no external controller required).
  • Strong aisle coverage: Up to 1.8 m / 6 ft coverage between pedestals (typical configuration and site conditions apply).
  • Lower power draw: Built to reduce power consumption without sacrificing detection performance.
  • Operational intelligence add-ons: Optional traffic counting and other enhancements for better store visibility and fewer false alarms.
Key features and options
Integrated alarms
  • Audible alarm output around 89 dB(A)
  • Visual alarm indicators for quick staff awareness
  • Configurable alarm duration (typ. 1–30 seconds)
Optional integrated Traffic Counter

Add a traffic counting module to gain visibility into:

  • Traffic volume and directionality (inbound vs outbound)
  • Better control of alarm events by using traffic logic
  • Reduced unintended alarms caused by customers carrying tagged goods near the exit area
  • Power-on-demand (with Traffic Counter): places the system into a low-power standby mode during periods of low/no traffic to reduce energy use (up to 86% reduction while in that standby mode, depending on configuration).
Nuisance-alarm reduction tools
  • "Tags-too-Close": Helps associates manage tagged merchandise staged near the front of the store—reducing nuisance alarms and service calls.
  • Jammer Detection: Triggers an alarm when it detects signals associated with attempted EAS jamming.
Merchandising & marketing upgrade
  • Advertising Upgrade Kit: Uses the pedestal face as "real estate" for posters or branded inserts—ideal for promos, wayfinding, or co-op vendor advertising.
Where it fits in a store

Ultra•Post is typically deployed at primary exits/entrances where retailers want:

  • Reliable AM EAS detection
  • Fewer components and simpler installs
  • Reduced energy consumption
  • Better alarm management near high-traffic entrances

Safety/operational note for signage near pedestals

If you use graphic inserts/posters on pedestals, keep them designed so they don't encourage customers to linger or lean on the system—especially important for visitors with medical implants who are typically advised not to remain close to EAS pedestals.
