Ultra·Post Self-Contained Pedestal

Sensormatic AM · 58 kHz · Self-contained

An energy-efficient Sensormatic AM pedestal with the core electronics built into the primary pedestal's base — no separate controller needed. Up to 6-ft coverage between pedestals, integrated alarms, and optional traffic-counter + power-on-demand for meaningful energy savings.

Overview

On-board electronics, simpler installs.

Ultra·Post packs the core electronics inside the primary pedestal's base cover — no external controller, fewer components, and less service overhead compared to older pedestal families. Integrated audible and visual alarms fire instantly on a detection event; software features cut down on everyday nuisance alarms and flag interference.

Built to reduce power draw without sacrificing detection performance, with an optional traffic-counter module that unlocks a power-on-demand standby mode during quiet hours.

Best for

Where it belongs

  • Primary retail exits wanting reliable AM EAS with fewer components
  • Sites where installation complexity and service cost matter
  • Retailers interested in traffic analytics and lower operating energy

Features

Integrated alarms & smart-add-ons

  • Integrated alarms: audible output ≈ 89 dB(A), visual indicators, configurable alarm duration (1–30 s typ.)
  • Optional Traffic Counter: tracks volume and direction (in vs. out); feeds alarm logic to reduce false alarms near the exit
  • Power-on-demand (w/ Traffic Counter): standby mode during low-traffic periods; up to 86% reduction in standby energy use
  • Tags-too-Close: suppresses alarms when tagged inventory is merchandised too near the front of the store
  • Jammer Detection: alarms when signals associated with attempted EAS jamming are detected
  • Advertising Upgrade Kit: converts the pedestal face into real estate for posters, wayfinding, or co-op ads

Operational note

Signage & medical-implant guidance

If you use graphic inserts or posters on the pedestal face, design them so they don't encourage customers to linger or lean on the system — particularly relevant for visitors with medical implants, who are typically advised not to remain close to EAS pedestals.
